Privacy and member information

MTBSA uses account and enquiry details to operate the site and respond to requests. This page describes the current site features.

Rider accounts

Registration uses an email address, display name, password and email verification. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Secure cookies maintain your session and verification challenge. Verification and reset emails are sent through Resend. Completed registrations notify the site editor with your display name and email address. Your email is not displayed with public posts.

Public contributions

Discussion posts, approved article comments, seller ratings and public listings show the display name and information you submit. Public content may be indexed by search engines. Do not include private contact, banking or identity information in a public post.

Marketplace conversations

Private trade messages are available to the participating buyer and seller. Public listing pages do not include those conversations. Trades are arranged between members; MTBSA does not process payments.

Enquiries and hosting

Advertising, event and product-review requests retain the information you submit so the editor can respond. Request details and pending comment notifications are emailed to the editor through Resend. The site is hosted through ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare. Embedded videos and external websites have their own privacy practices.

Contact andrewrudling@gmail.com to request access, correction or removal of your information. Provide enough detail to identify your account or contribution; account ownership may need verification.
